Custom Pro Logistics Announces Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for new Headquarters in historic Over-The-Rhi
(Cincinnati, OH) - Custom Pro Logistics, a premier third-party logistics solutions provider, proudly announces the opening of its new corporate headquarters based in Cincinnati’s Over-The-Rhine neighborhood. Located at 1707 Race St, the new space is directly along the streetcar line and will offer 7,000 sq. ft of newly renovated class A offices. While the move is only a short distance from Custom Pro’s current OTR location, it is a much needed, and welcomed move that will allow the company to continue on its aggressive growth path with room to support 50+ employees. The long-awaited renovations will be unveiled with a ribbon-cutting ceremony next Wednesday, September 11th, at 4pm. The public is invited to tour the space shortly thereafter as the company will be hosting an open house directly following the ribbon cutting, until 9pm.
HISTORY
The 1707 Race St project has been years in the making and is the end result of a few key strategic partnerships with the City of Cincinnati, the State of Ohio, and REDI Cincinnati. In 2017 Custom Pro Logistics was awarded a revitalization grant in addition to receiving job creation tax credits and incentives. CPL worked closely with 3CDC to find a location that was ripe for development while also providing room for future growth and expansion. 1707 Race St was first constructed in the year 1870 and had sat dormant for a number of years before being purchased from 3CDC back in February of 2018. After 18 months of construction and renovations, the historic building is getting a new lease on life which will only add to the ongoing Findlay Market revitalization. This Race St project further validates CPL’s goals and vision to be an integral part of the local community by creating jobs in the inner city and Cincinnati’s urban core.
“Over-the-Rhine has been and will continue to be a big part of who we are as a company. It is not only the community that we have worked and played in over the past few years but also the place we have called home. We are thrilled that we will continue to be able to call OTR our home and become that much more invested in the neighborhood’s success.“ - CEO, Devin Reilly.
DESIGN
Custom Pro Logistics worked with BAS design to completely reimagine the space from the ground up and with the needs and wants of the modern-day workforce specifically in mind. Every inch of the building was given careful consideration and contemplated over and built for a single-tenant commercial space and Custom Pro Logistics exact specifications. The design combines many modern-day elements along with various building materials and textures to create a truly unique and flexible urban workplace environment. While the new space maintains an industrial look and feel, the design does a great job incorporating and highlighting the unique properties that can only be found in historic properties. It is this mix of grit and character that gives 1707 Race that familiar old-meets-new feel. The building is equipped with fiber optic internet, an 8 zone surround sound PA system throughout, and a 4th-floor patio rooftop which allows for views of the beautiful Cincinnati skyline.
“This is a big step for us as a company and one that I have been eagerly anticipating. This new space will not only provide us with the room to grow but will be strategic to attract the type of young talent we will need to continue to grow” - CEO, Devin Reilly.
Present at the grand opening celebration will be the CPL leadership team, CPL team members. Invited guests include the Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber, OTR Chamber of Commerce as well as local and regional business leaders.
ABOUT OVER-THE-RHINE:
The Over-the-Rhine neighborhood is a modern-day success story unto itself and is located just north of Cincinnati’s central business district in the heart of its Urban Core. Founded by German immigrants in the late 1840s, OTR became home to a major beer brewing industry, making Cincinnati the beer capital of the country in the 1880s. OTR is believed to be home to be the largest historic district in the country and is an architectural treasure of 362 acres of densely packed 19th-century brick Italianate and German Revival buildings.
Prohibition of the 1920s alongside with anti-German hysteria from the World War I, the neighborhood slowly fell into decline and became a shadow of itself when it was one of the densest neighborhoods in the Western Hemisphere in the 1870s. By the late 2000’s, the OTR neighborhood was left in such disrepair that it was labeled the “most dangerous” neighborhood in America.
Fast forward to today, OTR is in the midst of a radical transformation and renaissance. Hundreds of millions of investment dollars have poured into the neighborhood over the past 10 years sparking the redevelopment of the public parks and historic treasures. The neighborhood has attracted entrepreneurs, working families and urban renewal experts who are drawn by the simmering experimental atmosphere of this once-neglected neighborhood.
